Shigeru Murakami
Shigeru Murakami passed away on Aug. 1, 2020, at the age 94, in Waimea.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1926, in Waimea. He was an Army veteran and heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by wife Jean Murakami and sister Hinako Kuboyama.
He is survived by son Ken (Alison Sakata) Murakami of Waimea, daughter Lisa (Gordon) Tamura of Lihu‘e, grandchildren Kaylee Tamura and Macy Tamura, sister Myrtle (John) Shinagawa of Waimea, sister-in-law Jane Takamura of Waimea, and numerous of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held. The family requests no koden (monetary donations).
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Barney Luther
Blankenship IV
Barney Luther Blankenship IV passed away on Aug. 1, 2020, at the age of 57, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1963, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was a computer engineer.
He is survived by mother Frances Nestel of Lawa‘i, father Barney L. Blankenship III of O‘ahu, sister Elizabeth (Rihard) Smith of O‘ahu, aunt Jean Redditt, and cousins Ginger Torres, Clay Nesbitt and Buckner Nesbitt.
Services will be held at a later date.

Estelato E. Reponte
Estelato E. Reponte, 97, of Kekaha, passed away on July 22, 2020.
He was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Cebu, Philippines.
He was a pipe fitter for Amfac’s Kekaha Sugar Company, and also served in U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by parents Pedro and Francisca Reponte and brother Clemente Reponte.
He is survived by wife Zosima Reponte, daughter Estella (David) Miyasato, sons Romeo (Christy) Reponte and Edgar (Maria) Reponte, and five grandchildren,
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, Aug. 20, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary chapel in Koloa, with visitation at 9 a.m. and service at 9:30 a.m. There is limited seating to allow for social distancing, and facial coverings are required.
Burial will be private.
