Renold Barreto Ben
Renold Barreto Ben passed away July 5, 2020, at the age of 62 in Lihu‘e. He was born on Jan. 3, 1958, in Waimea. He was a draftsman.
He was preceded in death by father Ricardo Ben, mother Salome Barreto Ben, brothers Richard “Eddie” Ben and Florendo Ben, and sisters Mary Ben and Perferia Ben.
He is survived by son Renold Thomas Ben of Huntington Beach, California, daughters Tishanna Bailey (Devon) Ben of Kailua-Kona and Wrena Lee Luana Duncan of Lihu‘e, sisters Bulee (Bill) Ben of Kekaha, Belma (Anthony) Ben of Lawa‘i, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be planned in the future.

Anecita Rull
Anecita Rull passed away on July 5, 2020, at the age of 90, in Koloa. She was born on Aug. 27, 1929, in the Philippines. She was a housewife and also employed by Burger King and Indo Pacific Trading Company.
She was preceded in death by husband Harry Rull, and parents Clemente Colache and Julita Marquino.
She is survived by sons John (Nuelma) Rull of Kalaheo, Ike (May) Rull of Hanapepe, Rully (Lilia) Rull of Kekaha, Harold (Jessy Jane) Rull of Las Vegas, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, brothers Enrique Colache, Melchor Banares and Ricardo Colache, and sisters Lolita Alejado and Francisca Advingula, all of the Philippines.
Private services were held.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Elpidio ‘Pat’ Aquino
Elpidio “Pat” Aquino passed away peacefully on July 8, 2020, at Wilcox Medical Center, at the age of 94. He was a print press operator for Garden Island Publishing and later Printing Services Corporation, from where he retired.
He was born in Koloa on Jan. 28, 1926.
He was preceded in death by parents M. Quirino Aquino and Clara Unday Aquino, sons Timothy Aquino and Dominic Aquino, grandson Shaun Angel Aquino, brothers Benjamin, Wenceslao “Winky” and Rudy, and sisters Fely Begonia, Trinidad Pagador and Katherine Lavilla.
He is survived by wife of 64 years Elizabeth Remata Aquino, son Myles (Darnell) Aquino, daughters Celeste (Edgar) Rivera and Wanda (Michael) Lazaro, daughter-in-law Lorlina Aquino, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, brothers Demetrio “Don” Aquino and Dennis (Anita) Aquino, sisters Mercy (David) Remata, Nadia (Pablo) Sarmiento and Dinah (Wally) Tavares, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service including family visitation and a Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at Garden Island Mortuary. Burial will follow 1 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines, masks and social distancing are mandatory.
