Sharron Weber (she always knows where the happening things are) was making the best of a sad situation Monday morning when she stocked up on goodies from The Great Harvest Bread Company that was planning on celebrating its final day Tuesday at the at the Kukui Grove Marketplace next to Kumu’s Cupboard (Elyse Litvack is getting excited about opening up the educators’ resource center after the Back to School Bash).

The Back to School Bash is Saturday, July 18, at Kukui Grove Center, and there is still room for more supporters to help get free school supplies to school-aged young people.
Kudos to Tina Albao (she’s so happy to be able to see all those smiling faces again) and all those Boys &Girls Club locations on opening its summer program Monday at its three sites and the “satellite site” in the former Pier 1 space at Kukui Grove Marketplace. It’s a great way for young people to spend the next four weeks in a supervised environment.
Kudos to all those motorcycle riders on a great final food drive remembering the late Russell Haluapo Sunday.
Larry Feinstein (check out his “Mind &the Motorcycle” blog — Russell did!) said this is not the memorial ride. That’s coming up some time in August when the COVID-19 rules are more relaxed.
In the meantime, Fourth of July is coming up, and everyone is reminded to have fun, but be safe and mindful about the novel coronavirus that’s still lurking about out there.
