Terrance Emetario Kalae Castillo
Terrance Emetario Kalae Castillo passed away on June 14, 2020, at home at the age of 64. He was born on March 21, 1956, in Waimea. He was an journeyman clectrician.
He was preceded in death by son Leonard Kalaimoku Castillo, father Emetario Castillo, mother Ella Castillo, sister Tammy Castillo, brothers Evaron and Everett Haumea, in-laws Lawrence and Felicia Natividad, and brothers-in-law Jesse Natividad, John Word and Wayne Harada.
He is survived by wife Patricia Lynn “Girlie” Castillo, sons Drake (Kim) Castillo of Kekaha, Zeal (Peggy) Castillo of Waimea and Isaac (Traci Yoshikawa) Castillo of Waimea, hanai sons Marques Hickson of Waimea and Chris (Tierny) Fu of Waimea, grandchildren Kaleo Fu, Kailen, Kaizen, Daejhia, Kaizey and Lendan Castillo, hanai grandsons Tavis, Tariq and Tazin Fu, brother Shane (Estrellita) Castillo of Hanapepe, sisters Wendy (Glenn) Tano of Kaumakani, Jonelle Word of Honolulu and Keiki Harada of Wainiha, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A talk story session is Saturday, June 27, from 3 to 4 p.m., with a celebration of life to follow at 4 p.m.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Paulina Rabasa Ibia
Paulina Rabasa Ibia, 77, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away on May 27, 2020, at her home. She was born in Koloa, on June 22, 1942, and worked as a greeter for Walmart.
She was preceded in death by husband Henry Ibia Sr., son Thomas James Ibia, parents Mamerto and Maria Agana Rabasa, sisters Dorothy Fort and Catherine Delima, brothers Juan Rabasa, Carlos Rabasa and Pedro “Pete” Rabasa, and brother-in-law Joseph Brun.
She is survived by sons Henry (Doreen) Ibia Jr., Robert (Mindi) Ibia and Darryl (Dayna) Ibia, daughter Wanda (Abraham) Ibia, sister Martina Brun, sister-in-law Minako Rabasa, grandchildren Hank Kawika, Schyler, Kaylin, Clifton, Preston, Raevyn-Simone, Kjandra-Sanoe, Kawika, Chelsie, Charisse, Chasa’re of Kaua‘i and Ashlyn of Reno, Nevada, great-grandchildren Chysen “Koa,” Chestyn “Bob,” Chaysen “Kekai,” Kyhianna, Kyhiani, Kyhiarah, Kierstyn, Jayzelyn and Jordyn of Kaua‘i, and Jai of Reno, Nevada, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when social gatherings are allowed.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
William Manantan
William Manantan, 84, of Lihu‘e, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 11, 2020. He was born in Lihu‘e on April 20, 1936. He served in the Navy for 20 years as a broiler technician, owned and operated Lorenzo’s Taxi, and retired as a bus driver from the County of Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by parents Lorenzo and Theresa Manantan, and sisters Juanita Moises and Lucia Turner.
He is survived by wife Orpha Manantan, daughters Alicia (Everett Sr.) Robledo of California, Theresa Manantan-Phillips of Texas, and Pualani Manantan Foster of Kaua‘i, sons Steven Manantan of Kaua‘i and William (Sherina Rodero-Workman) Manantan Jr. of Kaua‘i, sisters Dora Jane Rowell of Minnesota and Pacita (Carlton) Joyce of Maine, grandchildren Kalani and Everett Robledo Jr., Malia Foster and Maleyna, Kaiona and Kamaile Manantan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Lihu‘e United Church on Saturday, July 11, with visitation from 8 a.m. and services at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe. Face masks are required. Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
