LIHU‘E — One dad on Kaua‘i will receive a special free painting from fine artist Kristie Fujiyama Kosmides in a special Father’s Day giveaway contest.
Nominate your father from now through June 19.
The contest is in honor of Kosmides’ husband, the late Dr. George Kosmides, who passed away suddenly in 2018. Winners will be chosen by the couple’s daughter, 9 year-old Sophia Kosmides. The winner will be announced on Father’s Day, June 21.
One dad from each of the Main Hawaiian Islands will be named a winner in this contest and receive an Ocean Collection print, valued at $350 per piece, are 24” x 11.5” in size, and framed on stretched canvas.
“Father’s Day is a sad reminder that he’s not with us anymore however by sharing the beauty of art with some special Dad’s, I hope it may change what the day means, especially for my daughter who misses him very much.” Kosmides said in a press release about the contest. “George encouraged me to paint beauty, especially the ocean because it represented serenity and strength. He is truly missed and when there are loss and grief, the only remedy to heal is to share that love and to give to others. Sophia and I know that sharing art would’ve made him happy. It is our way to remember him and honor his memory.”
To enter the Father’s Day drawing, simply go to Kristie Kosmides on Instagram and nominate a special Dad, followed by the name of the island they reside on i.e. “@johnkealoha O’ahu” or “@dave808 Maui.”
