KOLOA — Paving work for Maluhia Road has been pushed back and will begin Sunday, June 14, due to mechanical issues, according to County of Kaua‘i.
Closures will affect the road day and night each week from 7 p.m. on Sundays to 7 p.m. on Thursdays starting June 14 and continuing through July 31, according to the Department of Public Works. The company Goodfellow Bros. LLC will be working on shoulder widening and repaving from Kaumuali‘i Highway to Koloa Road
Maluhia Road will be closed in two phases:
• Phase 1: From Koloa Town to Ala Kinoiki, June 14 to June 18; the temporary traffic detour for this phase will be on Ala Kinoiki and Waila‘au Road.
• Phase 2: From Ala Kinoiki to Kaumuali‘i Highway, June 21 to Aug. 6; the temporary traffic detour for this phase will be on Koloa Road, Piko Road, and Kaumuali‘i Highway.
Access to property within the closure area will be permitted only for residents and others who need to access properties within the closed area.
