Thomas Lee “Tom” Carpenter died peacefully on May 8, 2020.
His family and friends who remember him span the globe. While he dealt with the increasing difficulties of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseasae for the last decade of his life, this disease didn’t deter his desire to bring peace and teach forgiveness to whomever would listen.

Paula Lee Ward
Paula Lee Ward passed away on May 14, 2020, in Kalaheo, at the age of 78. She was born on July 7, 1941, in Los Angeles. She was a retired school teacher.
She was preceded in death by ex-husband Bill Wentzel and parents William Hiram Ward and Lula Margaret Newhouse.
She is survived by sons Bane Wetzel of Rancho Santa Margarita, California and Blake Wetzel of Kaua‘i, daughters Malia Boswell of California and Natasha Wetzel of California, grandchildren Blaise Boswell, Braden Boswell, Brennen Boswell, Bella Boswell, Hannah Shumate, Keira Shumate, Banning Wetzel, Beau Wetzel, Brock Wetzel and Dolly Wetzel, brother Bill Ward of Carlsbad, California, sister Sharon Marshall of Capo Beach, California, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Isabel Belardo Adviento
Isabel Belardo Adviento, 97, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away on May 13, 2020, at Garden Isle Health Care &Rehabilitation. She was born in Santa, Illocos Sur, Philippines, on June 18, 1922, and retired from Wilcox Memorial Hospital as a dietary cook.
She was preceded in death by husband Placencio “Pacing” Adviento, son Christito Adviento, parents Bonifacio and Carlota Belardo, brothers Patricio, Rafael, Dominador and Francisco Belardo, sisters Bibiana Barnachea, Marcela Albior, Marciana Albior and Enriquita Ramos.
She is survived by her son John (Mary) Adviento, grandsons Keoni (Amber) Adviento and Keoki Adviento, great-grandchild Sanoe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private burial services were held at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Julita R. Rame
Julita R. Rame passed away on May 12, 2020, in Glendale, California. She was born July 11, 1936, in Villasis, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was a Prudential Life Insurance agent.
She was preceded in death by husband Maximo P. Rame, parents Saturnina and Pascual Dosono and Ramon Raposas.
She is survived by daughters Eleanor (Darly John) R. Apuyod and Edna D. Mo, sons Edgardo R. Rame and Ferdinand R. (Tanya) Dosono, grandchildren Darlene Apuyod, Diane (Romel) Rayray, Schuyler Apuyod, Jessica (Ryan) Bean, Ashton (Jordan) Contrades, Isaiah Dosono and Aaron Dosono, and great-granchildren Lily Bean, Charlie Bean, Lilly Contrades and Kamalei Contrades.
Services and burial were held at Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
