HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i State Public Library System announced that library book drops are now open to return library materials.
The re-opening of the book drops represents the beginning of a phased-in approach to providing library services to support the health and safety of communities. No book donations are being accepted at this time.
To ensure the health and safety of staff, all returned items will be placed into quarantine for a minimum of four days before checking those items in. Depending on the date of return and the location’s hours of operation, it may take a few days for library accounts to reflect the return. No fines are being assessed during this period.
Fines assessed from Feb. 26 through reopening dates are being waived. For questions about library-card accounts and more, call toll-free at 1-800-390-3611 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Buildings remain closed to the public. All are to join the virtual library.
