Davin Jasen Koerte passed away on May 8, 2020, in Kapa‘a, at the age of 34. He was born on Dec. 10, 1985 in Tucson, Arizona.
He as preceded in death by father David Koerte Jr., grandmother Concepion Medina, paternal grandfather David Koerte, and maternal grandparents Joseph and Beatrice Medina.
He is survived by fiancée Blazey Dee of Kapa‘a, mother Marlow Koerte of Wailua, brothers Michael (Lu) Koerte of Kekaha and David Koerte III of Las Vegas, sister Tina Marie Silva of Koloa, and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are pending.

Brisen Micah Bermoy
Brisen Micah Bermoy passed away on April 19, 2020, in Koloa, at the age of 36. He was born on May 29, 1983, in Waimea.
He was preceded in death by adopted parents Henry and Cleo Bermoy.
He is survived by mother Linda Bermoy, son Brayden Bermoy, brothers Victor (“Sami” Samantha) Danley, Nash (Jamie) Danley and River Aguirre, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a carpenter by trade and also worked at Bangkok Happy Bowl in Koloa. He was a talented athlete in sports and loved the ocean.
A gathering will be held for him at a later date. Mahalo nui loa for all the love.

Rufo ‘Rufus’ Cardenas Jr.
Rufo “Rufus” Cardenas Jr., 64, of Kapahi, passed away at home on May 11, 2020. He was born in Lihu‘e on Aug. 26, 1955, and was the handyman and mechanic for Otsuka’s Furniture and Pacific Furniture.
He was preceded in death by parents Rufo and Margaret Cardenas Sr.
He is survived by wife Noe Cardenas, children Michael (Kristina Iida) Cardenas, Michelle (Chad Alayvilla) Cardenas, Miulan (Ryan Contrades) Cardenas and Melanie (Ramon Ramos) Cardenas, grandchildren Ganen, Katherine, Kailani, Dana, Kainalu, Oliver and Kaylor, siblings George (Mary) Cardenas, MaryJane (Benny) Alonzo, Bobby Cardenas and Angel (Cindy) Cardenas, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Katherine Doi Sato
Katherine Doi Sato, 102, of Lihu‘e, passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on May 7, 2020. She was born in Hawai‘i on July 23, 1917, and retired from Lihu‘e Delicatessen.
She was receded in death by husband Isamu Sato and son Melvin Sato.
She is survived by son Norman (Estelle) Sato and granddaughter Dee Ann Sato.
Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts) and graciously declines flowers.

James Lee Haggland
James Lee Haggland passed away on April 25, 2020, in Kapa‘a, at the age of 97. He was born on Nov. 21, 1922, in Seattle. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps (Air Force).
He was preceded in death by wife Mary Hillier Haggland and sons Eric Lee Haggland and Martin Haggland
He is survived by sons David Haggland of Kapa‘a and Ernest Haggland of Buellton, California, daughter-in-law Michelle Haggland of Kapa‘a, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Los Olivos, California.

Venida Costantino passed away on May 13, 2020, in Hanapepe at the age of 76. She was born on Oct. 15, 1943, in Pangasinan, Philippines. She was retired.
She is survived by husband Benedicto Constantino, sons Alfredo (Jossie) Constantino of Hanapepe, Orlando (Prescila) Constantino of Lihu‘e, Fernando (Francis) Constantino of ‘Ele‘ele and Carlos (Lori) Constantino of Honolulu, daughter Nida (Jason) Sunada of ‘Ele‘ele, grandchildren Freddy Constantino, Jocelyn Constantino, Mariagene (Ian Rapozo) Angala, Clarilyn (Daniel) Ishida, Michelle (Keoni Koslowski) Constantino, Brian Constantino, Benson Constantino, Cheynne Constantino, Kassie Sunada, Kylan Constantino, Ryan Constantino and Katelyn Constantino, great-grandchildren Kapono, Tiffany, Malia, Junior, MJ, Kepa, Freddrik, Princess, Jesmei, Huburt, Bentley, Jinson, Nicholas, Dariyen, Naiyah, Freya, Branson and Clara.

Narcisa Jimenez Valle passed away on April 16, 2020, in Lihu‘e, at the age of 85. She was born on Oct. 31, 1934, in the Philippines. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Fortunato Valle, daughter Teresa Valle, parents Raymondo and Manuela Jimenez, and sister Paulina Negrillo of the Philippines.
She is survived by sons Raymond Valle of Kapa‘a and Fortunato Valle Jr. of Hanama‘ulu, daughters Floredliza (John) Kamoku of Washington, Florentina Valle (Flor) of California and Lobevena (Ludi) Valle of Kaua‘i, sister Cornelia Jimenez of London. England, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at Garden Island Mortuary on Saturday, May 30. The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
