Kudos to Mayor Derek Kawakami (Monica and Haley did a great job with the mask), and the county crews did a great job directing the flood damages to the temporary stockpile at Vidinha Stadium in a collaborative effort with District Engineer Larry Dill and the state’s Department of Transportation to convert the vegetative debris into mulch. Talk about making lemonade out of lemons!

Great job, Lauren Guest (she was on the mayor’s March 27 video update — congratulations, Kim Tamaoka, on the arrival of the twins — that can be viewed by visiting facebook.com/CountyofKauai) on her talk dealing with cabin fever.
Ed Kawamura Sr. is dealing with COVID-19 by making sure the chickens are fed, and Alex Naumu (he was doing the collective Westside stocking up trip to Lihu‘e) said sunshine (hope that heavy rain stays away) is good, and have you seen those anole (Brian Atendido got one with his new Canon 1DX MkIII) that keep an eye on lawn mowing from their hidden vantage points and swoop in on the cockroaches that get roused from the mowing?
Stay well, Kaua‘i. How many more days do we need to go?
