Stanley Wolshin
Stanley Wolshin, the man, the legend, the voice, and the unbelievable comic, surfed on to the big waves in the sky on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020.
“Stan da Man,” as he was lovingly known hailed, was originally from Miami Beach, Florida, and was the fifth child out of six born to Lou and Olga Wolshin. He lived on Kaua‘i for over 30 years.
Women loved him and men were amazed by him. He had the kindest, biggest heart, and the sweetest soul. He was and will always be an iconic figure here on the garden isle of Kaua‘i.
Through his vibrant personality, shtick and song, he was able to forge a tender connection to everyone he encountered. His friendships ranged from celebrities to local surfers, from billionaires to the homeless, and anyone in between. Everyone loved him. He had a way of making you feel like you are the most important and the best person in the world.
He was a humble, extremely talented sales consultant and renowned, award-winning surfer who would go out of his way to help anyone who needed him. Not only did he have a huge heart, but he had one of the most amazing operatic voices in the world, comparable to that of Pavarotti.
He is survived by brother Steve, sisters Susan, Sonia and Sandy, brother-in-law Craig, niece Kandace and her mom Rhonda, nieces Sarah and Mary and nephews Benjamin and Max. Because of Stanley, we all feel a little more loved. He was an angel who was here on earth for too short of a time. We love you Stanley and you will always be with us.
