Inia Street
Is it feasible for the county to install a crosswalk or sign for children and the public to cross safely in this area fronting K.I.D.S. school?
It’s unclear where the crosswalk would connect on either side. In general, in order to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the County of Kaua‘i would have to put in ramps or landings on either side of the crosswalk, although there are a lot of older crosswalks without such landings.
Kapa‘a intersections
Does the county have any plans to address the on-going ponding and flooding at the various intersections in Kapa‘a (Aleka Loop, Keaka Street, Kaloloku Road, etc.)?
Yes, the County of Kaua‘i has plans to address the drainage. The Department of Public Works Engineering Division has proposed some funds out of next year’s general excise tax funding to do some design work for drainage in this area.
