LIHU‘E — Follow the yellow brick road to Island School’s 41st annual gala auction, “The Emerald City,” set for Saturday, Feb. 29, at 5 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort &Beach Club.
Get dressed up and help Island School create a fun night to remember, all for a great cause. Island School is having its annual gala that continues to give back to Kaua‘i’s keiki.
“Our 41st annual Gala Auction, The Emerald City, is our largest fundraiser of the year. The gala raises funds for our tuition-aid program, and this year alone we had 51% of our students receive financial aid,” Island School’s development associate Bianca Mendoza said.
“Many of our students would not be able to attend Island School without financial assistance, and we want to ensure that students from Ha‘ena to Kekaha have the opportunity to receive an Island School education,” she said.
This gala has been Island’s School’s main resource when it comes to finding ways to help local kids attend this private school. It also has many hands involved in it, and Mendoza expressed her gratitude.
“Our tuition-aid program would not be as successful without this fundraiser and the incredibly generous donors who attend and give so graciously. A different theme every year, consistent and new items to bid on, and the order of events keep our committed and new supporters coming back year after year,” Mendoza said.
Admission includes a silent auction, open wine bar, dinner and dessert buffet and entertainment. Adults attending must be at least 21 years old.
