Willow Spalding said Charlotte Pagel is better with the samples Friday night as Troop 616 of Kalaheo opened the Girl Scout cookie sales at the Safeway store in Hokulei Village Shopping Center in Puhi. Got to see coach Max Manera, who didnt get cookies but had the new basketball schedule for the middle-school students.

Kudos, too, to Troop 233 of Kalaheo, who took up a position at the Walmart store in Lihu‘e, where the pau hana crowd got their cookies (Thin Mints is by far the crowd favorite, although Sarah Spalding said you can use Trefoils to make crusts). At any rate, anyone have thoughts on recipe ideas for the Lemon Ups that Willow and Charlotte were passing samples of? That short link to find cookies works.
Kudos to Derek Inouchi and Coach Ronn Miyashiro (mahalo for the breakfasts. Sally Cravens and Eden Raquel loved them) on another great John Burns Intercollegiate golf tournament, where University of Hawai‘i at Manoa freshman Kotaro Murata has been burning up the course, wind or no wind.
Kudos, too, to Jason Mayeshiro (he said to use the app for the best pricing on goodies) and the Domino’s ‘ohana on hosting the Koloa School first-grade students to a make-it-and-enjoy-it lunch.
Finally, kudos to Bev Brody of Get Fit Kaua‘i, which launched the fifth Worksite Wellness Challenge to a sold-out field.
