Helen Esplana Watson
Helen Esplana Watson passed away on Dec. 28, 2019, at the age of 94. She was born on Oct. 26, 1925, in Lihue, and was retired from the hotel industry.
She is preceded in death by her mother Bernardina Iban; father Alejandro Esplana.
She is survived by her daughters, Cecilia Suan (Lloyd) Bond, Cileen Suan (Myron) Yamashita, Virgina (Victor) De Peralta, Norma Watson (John) Ross, Rose “Loke” Watson (Rudy) Notebo, Davilyn Watson, Veronica Texeira; sons, Ceasar Esplana Suan, Harold Esplana (Juliette Tapacio Sarmiento) Suan; sisters, Pastora “Patsy” Torres, Maria “Mary” Gonsales, Euphemia “Darlene” Steaveson; 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, with visitation at 10 a.m. and services starting at 11 a.m. at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary at 3168 Poipu Road, Koloa.
A Celebration of Life will also be held in Hilo on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Soka Gakkai International-USA, Buddhist Center, 695 Makalika Street, Hilo.
