LIHUE – Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Divisions contractor will be performing closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections on the Lihue sewer collection system from Feb. 18 through the third week of March, weather permitting.
LIHU‘E – Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division’s contractor will be performing closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections on the Lihu‘e sewer collection system from Feb. 18 through the third week of March, weather permitting.
The inspections consist of using a camera to inspect the sewer lines. Sewer manholes will be used to access the sewer line and deploy the camera. It is anticipated that the contractor will be at a manhole between one and four hours. The purpose of the inspections are to assess the condition of the sewer lines and manholes in the area.
The inspections will be performed on the following roads: Fujii Street, Inouye Street, Hiraoka Street, Jerves Street, Oxford Street, Poinciana Street, Kali Road, Ehiku Street, Elima Street, Eono Street, Eha Street, Ekolu Street, Hinahina Street, Ainakea Street, Noi Road, and Kanakolu Street. The inspections will be performed primarily during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Inspections near Kuhio highway will be performed at night, after 10 p.m.
Traffic control, using flaggers, will be implemented in the work areas. Motorists should drive with caution, expect delays, and adjust their travel times as needed.
