LIHUE Kauai Police have confirmed Kauai Councilmember Arthur Brun was the driver of a Hyundai involved in a Feb. 7 collision on Kapaa Bypass Road in the vicinity of mile marker 5.
LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i Police have confirmed Kaua‘i Councilmember Arthur Brun was the driver of a Hyundai involved in a Feb. 7 collision on Kapa‘a Bypass Road in the vicinity of mile marker 5.
According to a Feb. 8 release from Kaua‘i Police, Brun was driving a 2010 gray Hyundai Geneisis and heading northbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2006 white Ford F-150 head on that was traveling southbound.
Brun was treated by medics on scene and transported to Wilcox Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The passenger of the Ford, a 6 year-old male from Wailua, was treated by medics on scene and transported to Wilcox Hospital for further treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 49 year-old Wailua man, was treated and released on scene.
There appeared to be no indications of driver impairment, but Brun was cited for crossing the double yellow line and driving without insurance, according to the Feb. 8 release.
