Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami and the county Agency on Elderly Affairs invite the public to submit nominations for the 2020 Outstanding Older Americans recognition.
“Each year during the month of May, we pay tribute to older adults 65 years and older who have made exceptional contributions to their community through service and/or special projects,” said Kealoha Takahashi, AEA executive.
This year’s Older Americans Month theme, “Make Your Mark,” recognizes that older adults play a key role in the vitality of neighborhoods, networks and lives.
This year’s theme encourages older adults to fulfill diverse roles that are valuable to society; encourages and celebrates countless contributions that older adults make to our communities; and highlights the difference everyone can make in the lives of older adults in support of caregivers, and to strengthen communities.
