Yon U. Raposas
Yon U. Raposas passed away on Jan. 28, 2020, in Waimea, at the age of 81. She was born on Dec. 25, 1938, in Seoul, Korea. She was a retired sous chef with the Wailua Marina Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by husband Jose Raposas, grandsons Michael Kunio Iida and Kyson Contrades, father-in-law Cirilio Raposas, and mother-in-law Rosalina Raposas.
She is survived by son Robert (Jeanne) Raposas of Waimea, daughters Teressa Han (Derwin Nohara) Iida of Kalaheo and Shelley (Kamaka) Contrades of Anahola, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Garden Island Mortuary, with visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and celebration of life at 10:30 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
