However, there are times when authors take it upon themselves to send out copies of their books to bring awareness of their work.
“If There Never Was a You” by Amanda Rowe and Olda Skomorokhova is one such book.
As soon as we saw its cover, we immediately knew this was an eye-catching children’s board book that would be of interest to many.
Its theme is universal: we are all important, not because of what we do, but because we are important to someone.
Written as a beautiful ode to a young child from their parent (hence it being a board book), it showcases the love that one has and can give just by being in someone’s life.
It is excellently accented by a uniquely colorful and fascinating illustration style which we find endlessly interesting and beautiful to look upon. Each page is like looking into a fairy-tale world, but reimagined using modern artistic tools. It is guaranteed to keep the attention of young ones with its rich visual detail.
“If There Never Was a You” is a quality-made book, and a welcome addition to the array of board books that exist. It champions the importance of love, family and appreciation for what makes each one of us who we are. What better thing to promote than love?
