LIHUE — Members of the Kauai Live Poets’ Society (LPS) invite future members & visiting poets to attend the Monday, Feb. 3 meeting at the Lihue Library conference room, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for a free gathering.
Those attending should bring 10-12 copies of a work in progress for the evening’s sharing and critique, and writing materials.
The Feb. prompt is: Write a poem with “love” in the title and as subject (e.g. “Love & War” “Love is To Be Courageous” “Love of the Three Oranges” “Love in the Time of Cholera” “The Arithmetic of Love”), not restricted to romantic love. Following the sharing, Part One of a Beyond Words exercise will be the focus.
LPS members invite the community to a public reading of original works on April 15, 2020, 5:30 p.m. in the Library.
The Kauai “Live Poets’ Society” is a free gathering of poets for the purpose of enjoying the process of reading/writing poems together. The group meets monthly at Lihue Library under the guidance of Kauai poet and author, Dawn Fraser Kawahara, DBA TropicBird Press, and in partnership with Lihue Library (808) 241-3222.
