LIHUE — County officials remind property owners that the second installment of real-property taxes for the 2019-20 tax year are due by Thursday, Feb. 20.
Payments can be made online at kauairpt.ehawaii.gov, by mail, in person, or at a drop box located outside the Kapule Building at the Lihue Civic Center.
Checks should be made payable to the Director of Finance.
Property-tax bills were recently mailed to all owners on record or their respective mortgage institutions for those with impound accounts.
Property owners who pay their real-property taxes directly and have not yet received their property tax bills should inquire at the Real Property Tax Collection office at the Lihue Civic Center Kapule Building, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 463, or call 241-4272.
Failure to pay real-property taxes by the due date will result in a 10% penalty, as well as 12% interest per year.
