You know it’s the New Year because Santa (aka Phil Worwa) is on “vacation” after cleaning up following Christmas.
Santa was on the shuttle bus run and stopped by to show off his New Year’s look that doesn’t include shedding the red from the holidays.
Kudos to Susan Pittman and her sisters for continuing the Souper Bowl Sunday event (it’s on Feb. 2!) at Clayworks at Kilohana in Puhi (where are the mu‘umu‘u ladies, Shannon Hiramoto?). Susan has some new blood — Moonshine the dog (who loves to cuddle) and Mackenzie Bettencourt — to help her with creating the hand-made bowls for the Gaylord’s special soup of the day.
More kudos to Mary Brinker, who not only is going to be part of Souper Bowl Sunday with the results of her first class. She also wants to learn how to make peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with the Mobile Munchies.
Don’t forget — Stacie Chiba-Miguel and Pillare Mukai are waiting for you to enjoy the Chinese lions and firecrackers at the Flavors of Kukuiula at The Shops at Kukuiula that start from 6 p.m. today.
Kung Hee Fat Choy, or “gong xi fa ca,” Kauai — it’s the Year of the Rat!
