POIPU — A fire in the back portion of Pietro’s Pizza and Pasta at Poipu Shopping Village drew first responders to the restaurant about 4:30 Monday morning.
Kauai Police Department was the first on scene and used fire extinguishers to knock down the flames before firefighters from the Koloa station arrived.
Once on scene, firefighters discovered a portion of the restaurant’s wall partially burning and fully extinguished the fire.
The KFD Fire Prevention Bureau along with the on-duty battalion chief later arrived on scene.
Firefighters cleared the scene about 5:20 a.m.
The cost of damages is not yet known.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
