Takeshi ‘Take’ Yamamoto
Takeshi “Take” Yamamoto, 91, of Kapaa, passed away peacefully and entered the pure land on Dec. 16, 2019. He was born in Wahiawa, Oahu, on May 20, 1928.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He lived a full life as a farmer, fisherman and businessman.
He was preceded in death by parents Yoshimatsu and Tsuru Yamamoto, and brothers Toshio, Larry, and Mitsuo Yamamoto.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Yamamoto, children Brian (Wendy) Yamamoto, Diane (Mark) Kobayashi, Gary (Else) Yamamoto and Harry (Patricia) Yamamoto, grandchildren Shari, Andrew, Alison, Brandi, Nicholas and Anela Yamamoto, brother Ramon (Akiko) Yamamoto, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Kapaa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. and service at 10 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Rosenda Pasion Madrid
Rosenda Pasion Madrid, 100, of Hanamaulu passed away at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home on Dec. 29, 2019. She was born in Baccara, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on May 1, 1919, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Venancio Madrid, daughter Eugenia Bergonia and son Mark Madrid.
She is survived by children Petra (Ben) Barbosa, Angel (Gloria) Madrid, Abelina (Cuyler) Shaw, Norbertha Madrid, Juanita Abara and Jose (Juliet) Madrid, 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, brother Benjamin Pasion, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is Friday, Jan. 24, at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall, with viewing from 9 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Angela Lorraine Tavares
Angela Lorraine Tavares of Kalaheo passed away on Jan. 5, 2020, at the age of 93, at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home.
Born on Sept. 12, 1926, in Eleele, she was a retired housekeeper at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Frances Moura, husband Joseph Tavares, Jr., son Joseph Sidney Tavares, brother Clarence Moura, and grandson Wallace Michael Tavares.
She is survived by sons Wallace “Wally” (Dinah) Tavares and Thomas “Tommy” Tavares, brothers Wallace (Violet) Moura and Albert (Dorothy) Moura, sister Frances Freitas, grandchildren Warren (Tasha) Tavares and David (Monica) Tavares, and great-grandchildren Hunter, Shaelyn, Jadynn, Chole, Cali Tavares, and Jaysha and Jayann Hulama.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Feb. 1, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, with visitation at 8:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Marilyn Baumbach Sullivan
Marilyn Baumbach Sullivan, 83, of Lihue, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Jan. 15, 2020. She was born in Santa Barbara, California, on May 27, 1936, and retired from Kauai Surf as a secretary.
She was preceded in death by husband Frank Sullivan.
She is survived by son Michael Sullivan, granddaughter Kea Sullivan, grandson Kapono Sullivan, sister Marlene (Bud) Robinson, niece Kimberly and nephew Kelly.
Services will be announced at a later date.

Chaise Allen Lindstedt
Chaise Allen Lindstedt, 38, of Kapaa, lost his life on Oct. 27, 2019. He was born at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 22, 1981, and was a drywaller with Local 745.
He was preceded in death by grandparents John Tremblay, Ron Lindstedt and Elaine Lindstedt.
He is survived by mother Michele Lindstedt, father Paige Lindstedt, brother Ryan (Tessa) Lindstedt, grandmother Doris Tremblay, and uncles, aunties and cousins.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Feb. 22, at Kealia (Green Pig) from noon to pau, with a paddle out to follow.
