John Peacock, a former maintenance worker at Kukui Grove Center, repainted the “2020” logo used for a social media contact to match the colors of the Kauai Ocean Discovery center that opened Saturday morning.
“I asked him to use the colors they used in the Kauai Ocean Discovery center to re-do the sign,” said Melissa McFerrin-Warrack of KGC. “We’ll have the sign up until after the Ocean Discovery event in February.”
Hundreds of people of all ages and places shed their footwear to flow through the doors of the center that will help fulfill a need for a community learning facility that shares the traditions and knowledge of the island’s ocean connections and inspires stewardship.
Kauai Ocean Discovery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays at KGC, next to Game Stop.
