LIHUE Kapaa High School soccer teams took both of its matches against Island School Tuesday during Kauai Interscholastic Federation soccer matches at Vidinha Stadium.
LIHUE — Kapaa High School soccer teams took both of its matches against Island School Tuesday during Kauai Interscholastic Federation soccer matches at Vidinha Stadium.
Kapaa moved to a 1-0 lead following an own goal, or the score being credited after it touched a Voyager defender. The goal was credited to Dina Hayes, the last Warrior to touch the ball before it settled into the back of the net in the 38th minute.
Midfielder Talia Washington found open ground in the second half to net Kapaa’s second goal in the wahine’s 2-0 win.
The Kapaa boys followed suit when they broke a 0-0 halftime deadlock to net two goals in the second half for its 2-0 victory over the Island School boys, according to a parent who was at the contest.
No official scoresheets were available.
Kapaa next plays Kauai High School Saturday when the junior varsity girls kick off at 10 a.m. at Vidinha Stadium. The varsity Warriors will tangle with the Menehune when the varsity girls kick off at 1:30 p.m. followed by the varsity boys starting at 3:30 p.m.
Island School will host Kauai High School Saturday when the varsity girls play starting at 10 a.m. followed by the varsity boys at noon.
