Elizabeth ‘Bea’ Ebinger
Elizabeth “Bea” Ebinger, 73, of Kapa‘a, entered Eternal Life on Dec. 12, 2019, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lihu‘e, on April 13, 1946, she was a linen attendant at Plantation Hale.
She was preceded in death by husband Hitcliff “Bully” Ebinger; parents Andres and Elizabeth Leilani Polan; sister Judy Spencer; brothers Andrew and Joseph Polan.
Bea is survived by her 5 sons, Jonathan (Michelle) Apana and Joshua (Michelle) Apana of Kaua‘i, James (Noelani) Apana III of O‘ahu, Joseph (Charla) Apana and Jeremiah Apana of Washington; sister Mary Alice (Rupert) Rowe and brother Tuffy (Lorna) Poe both of Kaua‘i; grandchildren, Kristy, Darshell, Austin, Jon-Alan, Jeresen, Desiree, David, Kaimi, Kendra, Momo, Shambree, Abigail, Joshy, Kapono, Kawai, Eli-Ray, Ashley, Lindsey, Iokepa, Makaio; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bea’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Kapa‘a Assembly of God Church, Kapa‘a; services will be held at 10 a.m. Aloha attire requested.

Henry K. Shintani passed away on Dec. 25, 2019, at the age of 64. He was born on Dec. 11, 1955 in Pu’uwai, Niihau. He was a field technician for Syngenta Company.
He is preceded in death by parents Kuramatsu Shintani Sr. and Violet Shintani; brothers, Joshua K. Shintani, Justin M. Shintani.
He is survived by his wife Sandy Haunani Shintani of Kekaha; 3 sons, James (Jerry) Shintani Jr. of Hanapepe, Jeffery Shintani of Kekaha, John (Pui) Kahokuloa of Waimea; 4 daughters, Shereen (Evans) Louis of Waimea, Kauai Justine (Cjoe) Shintani of Kekaha, Shalei (Aaron) Shintani of Kekaha, Shaela Shintani of Kekaha; numerous grandchildren; 2 brothers, James Shintani Sr. of Kekaha, Kenneth (Judy) Shintani of Pu’uwai, Niihau; 2 sisters, Violet Kahokuloa of Anahola, Grace Shintani of Pu’uwai, Niihau; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service is on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at the Garden Island Mortuary. Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. Service to follow at 10 a.m. Family suggests casual attire. Flowers are welcome.

Mary J. Cabral
Mary J. Cabral passed away on Dec. 18, 2019, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 86. She was born on March 31, 1933 in Waimea. She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest R. Cabral; sons Ernest W. Cabral and John Larry Cabral.
She is survived by her son Larry (Laura) Cabral of Washington; son Rodney Cabral of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Donna (Todd) Caberto Caregiver of Kalaheo; daughter Michelle (Wynson) Rapacon of Wailua; grandchildren, Larry (Laura) Cabral of Washington, Doreen Caberto, Merrick Caberto, Brandon, Kaylyn and Brondson Cabral; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with services to follow at 10:30 a.m. There will be burial at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Jose Saludares Beltran Sr.
Jose Saludares Beltran Sr., passed away on Dec. 7, 2019, at the age of 82. He was born on March 19, 1937, in Puruganan Dingars, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He was a retired maintenance worker with Coco Palms and a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by parents Maximino Beltran and Mercedes Saludares; brothers, Arturo Saludares, Lito Beltran; sisters, Felicitas Seismundo, Elvira Beltran, Lucina Andam, Claudia B Manuel.
He is survived by wife Eglorina “Nita” Pascua Beltran, of Kapaa; son Jose P. Beltran Jr. of Wasilla, Alaska; 4 daughters, Joyce B. (Jesse) Fadden of Anchorage, Alaska, Janice P. (Bavy Kieng) Beltran of Anchorage, Alaska, Nanette B. (Randall Lee) Smith of Anchorage, Alaska, Kaylie Ann P Beltran of Kauai; 14 grandchildren, Austin Furumoto, Kaylin Furumoto, Danin Hanson, Aaliyah Beltran, Alexondrei Beltran, Michael Beltran, Maegan B. Priestley, Leila Fadden, Amanda Kieng, Kaitlyn Kieng, Breanne Smith, Deanza Smith, Kloie Sarme-Smith, Jaylee Kamanuwai; sister Juliana B Villa of Maui ; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services to be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at the St. Catherine Catholic Church in Kapaa with visitation: From 8 to 10 a.m. Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery at Hanapepe. Family suggests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Robynne Darlene Ku‘uleialoha Kanoho
Robynne Darlene Ku‘uleialoha Kanoho formally known as (Robynne D.K Kauanui) of Anahola, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 17, 2019, at the age of 70. Born in Lihue on Nov. 1, 1949, she was employed at Duane’s Ono Char Burger as a cook, prep cook, and cashier.
She is preceded in death by her husband Henry P. Kanoho; father Joseph Kauanui; mother Blossom P. Kauanui.
She is survived by her daughter Debra Bonilla of Anahola; three sons, Rawlin (Cheri Alamani) Kanoho of Salem, Oregon, Henry P. Kanoho Jr. of Anahola, Burl Kanoho of Warrenton, Oregon; three brothers, Joseph (Sandy) Kauanui of Florida, Vern Kauanui of Anahola, Emery Kauanui Sr. of Lihue; hanai brother Rudolph Kanekoa; sister Maileann Battad-Robins Kaopuiki of Molokai; 8 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 2020, at 11 a.m. at Kapaa LDS Church in Kapaa. A family viewing will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. with public viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with services to follow. Casual attire is suggested. There will be a burial to follow at Keapana Cemetery.

Vincente C. Ramelb
Vincente C. Ramelb passed away on Dec. 28, 2019, in Waimea. He was born on April 9, 1943, in #38 Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and was retired.
He is preceded in death by his father Apolonio Ramelb; mother Flora Cadavona Ramelb; former wife Apolonia Ramelb; son Pedro Ramelb.
He is survived by his wife Yoly Ingeniero; sons, Jeffery Ingeniero of Philippines, Vincent (Angel) Ingeniero of Eleele, Bryan Ingeniero of North Carolina, Amante (Juliet) Ramelb of California, Erwin (Alison) Ramelb of Oregon; daughters, Camela Ingeniero of Eleele, Anela Ingeniero of Eleele, Fely (Fabian) Banashian of Hanapepe, Janelyn (Ridel) Navor of Lihue; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; parents Apolonio and Flora Ramelb; sister Violet Batangan of the Philippines; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, with visitation from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at Garden Island Mortuary. Family suggests casual attire. Please omit flowers. Dinner to follow.
Jacqueline ‘Jai’ Roberts
Jacqueline “Jai” Roberts, 71, of Kapahi, peacefully passed away on Dec. 9, 2019, in her beloved Kapahi home. Born on June 15, 1948, in Ottowa Canada, Jacqueline was the daughter of John Arthur Roberts and Muriel Elizabeth Pettigrew.
Jaqueline is preceded in death by her parents John and Muriel Roberts; sister Deborah “Debbie” Elizabeth Roberts.
Jai is survived by her daughter Julianne “Julie” Moye Mai; son-in-law Savino Torea Mai; 4 grandchildren, Hanavai Pua’ora, Maluhia Meherio, Temerahi “Tajee” Torea, Tehani Vahine Moonbow Mai of Kilauea. Jai is also survived by her sister Virginia “Ginny” Lenore Blair of Martintown, Ontario; brother Donald “Don” Kensington Roberts of Vancouver, Canada.
A Celebration of Jai’s life will be held at The Kauai Ranch (6782 Hauaala Road, Kealia) on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. Visitation with service, shares, music and potluck lunch to follow. Casual, colorful attire requested by family.
Kaylee-Tayler Reiko Balbarino
Kaylee-Tayler Reiko Balbarino, 22, of Kauai, passed away on Dec. 18, 2019. She was born in Lihue, on Nov. 4, 1997.
She is survived by her parents Patrick Balbarino and Susan (Jack) Kawamura-Mayer; sisters, Kristel (Francisco Espinosa Torres) Balbarino, Nicole Balbarino; grandparents, Edward and Lilli Kawamura Sr., Millie Balbarino; numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at Kauai Veteran’s Center. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with services to follow at 5 p.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
James Shigeru Nishizawa
James Shigeru Nishizawa, 60, of Fountain Valley, California, passed away on Dec. 28, 2019. He was born in Lihue on June 29, 1959. He worked at Radio Shack in Lihue and for Hewlett Packard and AT&T.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nisaburo and Miyoe Nishizawa.
He is survived by his wife Evelina Nishizawa of Fountain Valley, California; brother Francis (Martina) Nishizawa of Lihue; sisters, Minnie Nishizawa of Kapaa, Cindy (Mark) Gama of Falcon, Colorado; nephews, Anthony (Melissa) Gama and Derek Gama of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Westminster Memorial Park, Main Chapel, 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster, California. A celebration of James’ life will be on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
