KAPAA — Sean Garcia and his family, owner of Java Kai in Kapaa, came to the Friendship House bearing gifts on Christmas Eve.
The gifts for the 58 members of the Friendship House were a result of an Angel Tree posted in Java Kai.
“Earlier in the month, Sean said that each year, Java Kai selects a different nonprofit as their Angel Tree recipient,” said Debby Thompson of Friendship House.
“This year, Java Kai selected Friendship House as the Angel Tree recipient. Sean asked that each member list their top three wishes. These wishes were posted to the tree in the Kapaa shop so customers could shop to fulfill the wishes for Christmas.”
On Christmas Eve, Sean, his wife and children delivered the gifts to Friendship House.
“Wow!” Thompson said. “Our members were happy. Our heartfelt thanks to Sean and the generous customers at Java Kai for the kindness. We are so grateful to our island community for embracing us and supporting us through the years.”
