Kapahi HI5 redemption center has closed temporarily
KAPAHI — After operating for 14 years, Reynold’s Recycling closed the Kapahi HI5 redemption center on Kawaihau Road on Saturday.
“We thank you for your patronage and look forward to serving Eastside residents again,” said Terry Telfer, president of Reynold’s Recycling. “The company is working to reopen a site in the Kapahi area, however, an exact date is to be determined.”
Reynolds’ other HI5 redemption center is in Lihue at the 3460 Ahukini Rd. at the Kauai Resource Center fronting the Lihue Transfer Station, and remains in operation.
Kapaa residents may also redeem their HI5 containers at Kauai Community Recycling Services at 962 Kipuni Way in Arzadon Industrial Center next to Gather Federal Credit Union.
