The winds blew, but the rains stayed away Saturday during the annual Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade that delighted the hundreds of people that lined Kaumuali‘i Highway from the West Kauai Tech Center through the Waimea Bridge.
Presented by the West Kauai Business and Professional Association, the parade is the highlight of Christmas in Waimea 2019 that launched earlier in the month with the annual Waimea lighting ceremony that signals the start of the storefront decorating.
The festive atmosphere overflowed onto the streets as pop ups, many offering foodstuffs, kept spectators busy ahead of the annual light extravaganza that did not disappoint with its illuminated displays featuring celebrity characters and lots of candy giveaways.
The annual Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade is traditionally held on the last Saturday before Christmas.
