The National Weather Service has issued a high-wind warning for Kauai and Niihau that is in effect through 6 tonight. Protect appliances and sensitive equipment from power outages and surges that may occur because of bad weather by using surge protectors, KIUC suggests.
During a storm turn off and unplug all unnecessary appliances or equipment.
