Miriam P. Sasaki
Miriam P. Sasaki, of Puhi, passed away on Oct. 13, 2019, at the age of 85. Born on April 13, 1934, in Hanapepe, she was a retired manager at Lihue Salvation Army.
She is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Elizabeth Pauole; spouse, Shigeyuki Sasaki; sisters, Ellen Taniguchi, Lucy Carineo, Alice Lee, Elizabeth Lee, Dora Camarillo, Beatrice Santos.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Peter Sapinoso ) Sasaki, Gwendolyn (Egon) Silva, Pearl (Denis) Souza, Lynnette (Phil Brewer) Salazar, Sherrice (Brian) Souza; 25 grandchildren; 1 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe with visitation 9:30 a.m, Service at 10 a.m.

Robert S. Saito Sr.
Robert S. Saito Sr. passed away on Nov. 19, 2019, at the age of 91 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1928, and was raised on Kauai, before enlisting in the United States Army. He was a paratrooper and actively served in three wars. He retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He then returned home to Kauai and worked at the Kauai Freight Service where he also retired.
He is preceded in death by his parents Kiichi and Hatsue Saito; brother Herbert Saito Sr.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine Saito; sons, Robert Saito Jr., Ronald Saito; daughters, Naomi (Roy) Saito, Mariko Ringgold; sisters, Jean (James) Sato, Alice Hahn; brother Thomas (Edna) Saito; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life to be held.

Walter Labez Estenzo
Walter Labez Estenzo, 75, of Hanamaulu, entered Eternal Life on Dec. 12, 2019, in Wilcox Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Philippines on Feb. 12, 1944, and retired as a Plumbing Supervisor and Inspector with the County of Kauai.
Preceded in death by his parents Sotero and Consorcia Estenzo; sister Julieta Kathy Estenzo Howell; brother Marco Estenzo Ponciano; father-in-law Dominador Alquisalas; mother-in-law Maximena Alquisalas.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Virgie Estenzo; son Wil (Kristina) Estenzo of Las Vegas; daughters, Vernalyn Estenzo Willis of Las Vegas, Eileen Estenzo Kawai of Honolulu; grandchildren, Katelyn and Liliana Estenzo, Kerry, KC and Jacob Willis, Haylee and Kulamakai Kawai; brothers, Nelson (Gloria) Estenzo of Kapaa, Geraldo “Larry” Estenzo of Kapaa, Wilfredo (Tessie) Estenzo of Wailua; sisters, Rosa Dejos of Texas, Eleanor Estenzo of Kapaa, Feleilani (Boyd) Phillips of Lihue, Maria “Bebe” Burns of Kapaa; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Lawrence Gene Cuaresma
Lawrence Gene Cuaresma passed away at the age of 57, at his home in Saint Helena, California. He was born on Oct. 3, 1961 in Lihue. He was a retired District Engineer with the City & County of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering.
He is preceded in death by his father Eugenio Cuaresma and mother Consuelo Cuaresma.
Lawrence is survived by his step-mother Conchita Cuaresma; sisters, Patricia Cuaresma, Racquel (Reid) Samio, Shirri (Daynes) Sacro; nieces and nephews, Reiden Samio, Nikayla Sacro, Ava Sacro, Daylen Sacro, Reinden Samio; numerous cousins.
Celebration of Lawrence’s Life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. with service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Family suggests casual attire.

Carolyn Ann Nii
Carolyn Ann Nii passed away peacefully on Nov. 24, 2019, in Bellevue, Washington, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 20, 1948, in West Virginia, Carolyn grew up in Ohio, She was a Certified Public Accountant.
Daughter of the late Robert and Marie Dingle, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Michael N. Nii Sr. and survived by her sons, Robert (Christy) Nii, Christopher (Pammy) Nii, Michael (Megan) Nii Jr; grandchildren, Kailee, Kamden, Kanoa, Ashlyn, Cody, Makenzie, Michael Koa, Madisyn Nii; brother Robert Dingle Jr.
A service will be held at Lihue Hongwanji Mission at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, with visitation starting at 3 p.m. The family invites guests for refreshments and fellowship following the service in the Social Hall.
