KILAUEA — A Kilauea home was damaged in a fire Sunday morning.
Damage to the structure and its contents is considered a total loss, a county press release said. Fire investigators remain on scene. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
Firefighters from the Hanalei, Kaiakea, and Kapaa fire stations, along with the on duty battalion chief, responded to the residential fire on Aalona Street.
No injuries were reported as of Sunday afternoon.
Volunteers with the American Red Cross also responded to meet with affected residents and ensure their immediate emergency needs for food, shelter and clothing are met.
Caseworkers will continue to follow up with anyone affected in the coming weeks to provide referrals, guidance or additional assistance as needed to help with the recovery process.
