Venancia Escalona Papagayo
Venancia Escalona Papagayo, 84, of Kapaa, passed away peacefully at Garden Island Health Care on Nov. 23, 2019. She was born in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Phillipines on April 1, 1935, and retired as a sales associate with Walmart.
She is preceded in death by her parents Benito and Maria Escalona; husband Sebastian Papagayo; siblings, Theodorico Escalona, Nena Erata.
Venancia is survived by her children, Vanessa Papagayo of Kapaa, Patrick Papagayo of Chicago, Grace (Stan Koga) Papagayo of Kapaa; grandchildren, Natassja (Beau) Lofton, Tenessa (Robin) Eiland, Brianee Cabacungan; great grand children, Kyssja Strickland, Kiarah Strickland, Keanu Strickland, Anela Eiland; brothers, Marcos Escalona, Anastacio “Tony” Escalona; sisters, Carmen Escalona, Esparanza “Pansang” Etrata, Pinang Sipin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at St. Catherine’s Church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass to follow at 10 a.m. There will be a burial to follow after the mass at St. Catherine’s Cemetery at Kealia.

Duane ‘Poody’ Shigeto Yamaguchi
Duane “Poody” Shigeto Yamaguchi, 60, of Mililani, passed away on Sept. 20, 2019, in Honolulu. Born in Lihue, he worked at Hawaii Gas.
Survived by wife Cindy; son Dustin; sisters, Wendy Yamaguchi (Milton Koga), Cadice (Fred) Pascual.
Service will be on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at Mililani Memorial Park’s Mauka Chapel. Visitation will start at 5:30 p.m.; Services at 6:30 p.m. Family suggests casual attire.
Antonia Medieros Robley
Antonia Medeiros Robley, 97, of Kalaheo, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 11, 2019. She was born in Koloa on July 2, 1922, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip; son Robert Stanley; father John Medeiros; mother Dominga Orsatelli Medeiros; step-mother Gomecinda Medeiros; brothers, Joseph and Philip Medeiros; sisters, Shandra Hernandez and Mercy Souza.
Antonia is survived by sons, Philip (Janice), John (Lois), Melvin (Rosie); daughters, Marjorie (Gordon) Arakaki, Carol Robley; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 14 great great-grandchildren and 2 great great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Holy Cross Church, Kalaheo with visitation at 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Tyler Zen Bigno
Tyler Zen Bigno, 20, of Hanalei, passed away on Nov. 23, 2019. He was born in Lihue on Nov. 10, 1999, and was a self-employed carpenter.
Preceded in death by his great-grandmother Rebecca Falcon Clark; great-grandfather Don Detrick.
Tyler is survived by his mother Candice (Bryson Gonsalves) Lopez; sisters, Kimana Lee Cabinatan, Giselle Chow; biological father, Keoni Bigno; aunties, Gena (Jason Hamada) Lopez, Dawn (Kaipo) Makepa; uncles, Chyson Chow-Cabinatan, Russell Matsuyama Jr.; grandparents, Gene Lopez and Robin Lopez, John and Laura Bigno; numerous cousins, aunties, uncles, friends and his dog “Buddy.”
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, at the Wilcox Beach Front Property on Weke Road. Celebration at 10 a.m. and Paddle Out at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow. Please bring flowers, boards, love and good vibes.

Kazuki Shimizu
Kazuki Shimizu passed away on Dec. 1, 2019, at Garden Isle Health Care. He was born on Jan. 3, 1923. He was a Veteran with the U. S. Army and did auto body work.
He is preceded in death by his wife Fuyuko Shimizu; daughter Diane S. Shimizu.
He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Lois) Shimizu of Pearl City, Les (Colleen) Shimizu of Honolulu; daughters, Christine (Gary) Hashimoto of Lihue, Jeanne Shimizu of Lihue; grandchildren, Shaun Shimizu, Tracie Sanjume, Ryan and Bryce Hashimoto, Lindsie and Lacie Shimizu; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Garden Island Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Service to follow at 11 a.m. Family suggests casual attire and flowers omitted.

Marie Gladys Itamura passed away on Nov. 28, 2019, in Kalaheo at the age of 84. She was born on Jan. 5, 1935, on Kauai. She was a self-employed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Itamura; parents Joaquin and Mary Souza; sister Jeanette Matsumura; brother Robert Souza; great grandchild Kayla Itamura.
She is survived by her son Glenn Itamura (Barbara) of Hanamaulu; daughters, Karen Ono of Puhi, Cheryl Itamura (Lisa Ka’aihue) of Kalaheo, Raynette Taniguchi (Wayne) of Kalaheo; grandchildren, Sherree Ono-Naeole, Byron Ono, Galen, Garen and Brandy Itamura; Kalailoa Taniguchi, Jasmine Taniguchi-Simbre, Kylie and Kawehi Taniguchi; 21 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Yvonne Souza (Edward Souza) of Kalaheo; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Felisa (Tango) Natividad passed away on Nov. 17, 2019, at KVMH, Waimea at the age of 87. She was born on Jan. 8, 1932, in Mana. She was a housewife.
She is preceded in death by husband Lawrence Patrick Natividad, Sr.; son Jesse Natividad; grandson Leonard Castillo; parents Placido and Hertrudes Tango; sister Dolly Furtado-Mayo; father-in-law Patricio Natividad; mother-in-law Caroline Medina; in-laws Jimmy and Sarah Villaros.
She is survived by sons, Lawrence P. Natividad, Jr. (Novella) of Waimea, Anthony Natividad (Minnie) of Kekaha, Timothy Natividad of Waimea; daughters, Patricia Girlie Castillo (Terrance) of Waimea, Sharon Lani Fernandez (Ira) of Waimea; grandchildren, Drake K. Doreen Tomiko Inazu
Doreen Tomiko Inazu dearly cherished and missed, passed away on Nov. 17, 2019, at her home in Kekaha. She was born Doreen Deguchi on Jan. 3, 1923, in Waimea.
Doreen Tomiko, an exceptional typist, enjoyed an early career as an executive secretary with Kekaha Sugar Company. She took classes in tennis and ballroom dancing, learned about Ikebana (flower arranging) and calligraphy, and excelled in the kitchen.
Doreen is survived by her husband Sadao Inazu; daughters, Claire (Soren) Seaver, Haidee Inazu; sister Chiyoko Hashimoto; grandson Keilland Seaver and great-grandson Oliver Seaver.
To honor her time with us a celebration of life will be held Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary in Koloa.
