HONOLULU — The University of Hawaii and Brigham Young University will renew their decades-long rivalry in the Christmas Eve Hawaii Bowl at Aloha Stadum in Halawa.
Hawaii (9-5 in the Mountain West) and BYU (7-5, independent), were once Western Athletic Conference foes, and will play in the 3 p.m. game.
Hawaii’s top players include wide receiver Cedric Byrd II, who had 91 receptions for 1,049 yards and 10 touchdowns, while BYU has another prolific passer in quarterback Zach Wilson, who threw for 2,108 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Head coach Nick Rolovich led the Warriors to the MWC West Division title, and is the program’s first conference coach of the year since June Jones in 2007.
The Cougars have passed for more than 200 yards in 14 straight games.
Go Warriors, beat the Cougars!
