Water service was off line for Wainiha and Ha’ena customers for about an hour and a half Tuesday due to an electrical power outage at the Wainiha well site.
It was restored to Department of Water customers on Kuhio Highway between Malolo Street and the Hanalei River in Hanalei about 11 a.m. Repairs required work to tie-in a new water line onto the existing system.
During the shutdown, residents and businesses were asked to limit water use to essential needs only.
DOW lifted the water conservation request about 12:15 p.m..
