HONOLULU — A retired Honolulu police officer has pleaded guilty in federal court to attempted sexual enticement of a 13-year-old boy.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Tuesday that 63-year-old James Dean Kalani Goeas participated in online chats and text conversations with an undercover agent posing as a child.
Authorities say that during conversations in March, the resident of Waipahu on Oahu arranged to meet with the agent at a park to engage in sexual activity.
Police say Goeas was arrested at the park March 24.
Authorities say Goeas told investigators he had sex multiple times with a 15-year-old boy he met online while he was still employed with the Honolulu Police Department.
The department says Goeas became an officer in 1987 and retired in 2015.
Goeas is scheduled to be sentenced in April.

So is this “Hawaii’s finest in blue” gets to keep his taxpayer’s funded pension while he commits a sexual predator crime?
28 years on the job and now this? He won’t be spending any of that pension on the streets and I’m sure the convicts he help put away are going to love seeing him again.
