The Kauai Vegetarian Society of Hawaii holiday vegan potluck lecture is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at Kapaa Seventh-day Adventist School.
It is free and you don’t need to be a vegan to attend.
To participate in the potluck bring a vegan dish (with recipe and ingredient list) to share. Original recipes are encouraged. A $25 gift certificate will be given for the best dish. Those not bringing dishes are welcome for a $10 suggested donation. The gathering is free for children 12 and under.
The Kapaa Seventh-day Adventist School is at 1132 Kuhio Highway, across from Burger King.
Vegan chef and author Hollan Hamid will give a talk, “How to live plant-based effortlessly.”
She started a vegetarian/vegan restaurant and sold it in 2017 to write her vegan cookbook, “Good Food Gratitude,” which was recently published.
