LIHUE — A second woman has been arrested for aiding then federal fugitive Orlando Manguchei.
On Tuesday, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Leona Boggs-Kaui for harboring and concealing fugitive Orlando Manguchei, who led police on a seven-day manhunt through the mountains of Kauai.
About 9 p.m. Wednesday, U.S. marshals and Honolulu police located and arrested 41-year-old Boggs-Kaui of Kauai at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport as she was trying to board a flight leaving Oahu, a press release said.
Her criminal history includes arrests and convictions for narcotics, theft of a firearm, criminal contempt of court, and violations of parole and probation.
If convicted, Boggs-Kaui faces up to five years in federal prison. Boggs-Kaui will appear in federal court tomorrow before a U.S. magistrate.
Earlier Wednesday, marshals and police arrested 35-year-old Alicia Kilpatrick of Kauai in connection with aiding Manguchei in order to evade arrest. She was located and arrested at a residence in Kalaheo.
Her criminal history includes arrests and convictions for narcotics, resisting arrest, criminal contempt of court, failure to appear, and violations of parole and probation. If convicted, Kilpatrick faces up to five years in federal prison. Kilpatrick will be transported to Oahu.
