Get ready for “Love Finds Trouble,” the next chapter of the Kauai Island Singers Showcase The Mating Game, a sultry, sassy, original cabaret set in a 1920s speakeasy, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Trees Lounge in Waipouli.
The two-act musical theater features post-modern jazz, blues and pop songs, which tell a story of the game of love and romance — from looking for love and the thrill of desire to the inevitable longing, complications and conflicts — with lots of fun and laughter.
The cast includes vocalists Dhyana Dunville, Melissa Mojo, Phil Zeidner, Siri Shabad, Mary Ellen Kopitzke, Trishana Star and Alison Miller, accompanied by Hank Curtis on piano, Harry Poehland on drums and Kenji Juravic on bass.
Trees Lounge is behind the Coconut Marketplace in Kapaa, and organizers suggest arriving in roaring Twenties attire.
Doors open at 5 p.m. The cover charge is $15, or $20 for limited, VIP seating.
