Boy, Earl Kashiwagi of Esakis Produce wasnt kidding when he said Halloween starts the food parade through the holidays … Sunday, the Lihue Raiders Pop Warner Association hosted a fundraising breakfast (Kelvin Moniz said the miso soup was just as good as the Harvey Kinoshita special served by the East Kauai Lions Club) where Teddy Arroyo (congratulations on the Kauai High School Junior Varsity football Kauai Interscholastic Federation title following its 9-6 edge over Waimea Saturday!) picked up a whole bunch to share with the other Kauai Pop Warner Football League people who were engaged in the leagues weekly games at Hanapepe Stadium … and, you could squeeze in a car wash as more than a hundred students from both the Kauai High School and Kapaa High School Key Clubs hosted a fundraising car wash at the Kukui Grove Center.

Koloa Rams Pop Warner Association kept the tradition of having roast pork on its food booth menu, and more food is on tap when the Lihue Raiders host its spaghetti dinner (yes, take out is available) Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the convention hall.
Kudos to Karin Stoll and her Healing Horses Kauai ‘ohana on hosting the Paniolo Style gala, Monday night at the Hukilau Lanai with Chef Ron Miller, and the excitement continues when Chef Martina Hilldorfer gets her Kauai Community College culinary arts students doing the Chef’s Demo at the Kauai Culinary Market (it goes from 3:30 to 6 p.m.) as an event for the Poipu Food and Wine Festival that continues through Saturday with the big gala Poipu Pa‘ina taking place at the Koloa Landing Resort from 5:30 p.m. — all to support the KCC culinary arts students.
