Betty K. Yamamoto
Betty K. Yamamoto, 92, formerly of Lihue, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in San Jose, California, on Aug. 29, 2019. She was born in Koloa on April 7, 1927, and retired as a clerk typist for the State of Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by parents Seiroku and Rii Ebata, husband Kazuo Yamamoto, siblings Shizuko Okuda, Burt Ebata, Kii Honda, Ted Ebata and Asao Ebata.
She is survived by daughters Gay (Wayne) Imaino and Karen (Eric) Kubota, son Keith (Stacey) Yamamoto, grandchildren Kaitlyn Imaino, Kylie Kubota and Tyler Kubota, and sisters Kimi Odo and Dale Yamanaka.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, at 5 p.m. at Lihue Christian Church.
The family requests no flowers or monetary gifts (koden).
Florentina ‘Tina’ Dugay Acob
Florentina “Tina” Dugay Acob, 74, of Kilauea, passed away at home on Oct. 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 16, 1944, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, and was a retired housekeeper at The Cliffs at Princeville.
She was preceded in death by husband Pedro Acob, parents Tomas and Cecilia Dugay, brothers Rizalino Dugay, Pedro Dugay and Alejandro Dugay, and sister Maria Dugay Baxa.
She is survived by daughters Catherine “Kehau” (Rodney Woodward) Acob, Michelle (Joshua) Acob-Apana and Jacqueline (Jose) Lopez, sons Edward (Maria) Acob and John-Pierre (Sonrisa Stepath) Acob, all of Kauai, aunt Isabel Luluquisen of California, sisters Salvacion Bolo and Jesusa Cadelinia, both of the Philippines, and Bernarda Dugay, Nenita Bergonia and Ardelina Constantino, all of Kauai, brother Emil (Lilia) Dugay of California, grandchildren Rachel “Momo” (Elele) DeMello, Kawaiolu Apana, Makaio Apana, Luis Lopez, Graciela Lopez, Cecilia Acob, Alexander Acob, Mark Rodriguez and CJ Rodriguez, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Nov. 16, at St. Sylvester Church in Kilauea, where visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at the Japanese Kilauea Cemetery.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
