Free pumpkins at the Kauai Community Market at Kauai Community College, Monster Rock, costume contests, trick-or-treating parades, and more filled the Kauai calendar on the weekend before Halloween.
Starting with the Kauai United Way’s 47th annual Walk A Thon that attracted costumed characters from Cub Pack 148 and others, the day-long festivities continued at Kukui Grove Center, where costume contests for everyone filled the mall with characters of all nature.
The costume contest was followed by the anticipated trick-or-treating parade, where the dressed-up characters were treated to goodies by center tenants.
The Monsters of Rock greeted the nightfall that was livened by the tri-high dance coordinated by Divina Plowman of Kauai High School, and Student Activities Coordinators Harriett Watanabe (Kapaa) and Liko Perreira (Waimea) of the three Kauai public high schools.
