KAPAA — Two pedestrians were in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Friday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, two pedestrians were crossing Kuhio Highway near the Ala Road intersection about 6 a.m. when they were struck by a white Jeep traveling south. The pedestrians were transported to Wilcox Medical Center in critical condition, a press release said. The driver of the vehicle did not report any injuries.
Kuhio Highway in Kapaa between Keaka and Hoi roads was closed until about 9:30 a.m.
