The rains that dumped on Friday afternoon couldnt stop Val Faford from Hale Opio from continuing on with the Bully Free Concert and Youth Resource Fair at Kukui Grove Center (yes, Kauai Police Department was there, too) in the on-again, off-again heavy rain. Even Kollab showed up and provided entertainment for all those who took advantage of being indoors to get an early dinner.

Melissa McFerrin Warrack of Kukui Grove said the Slime people were warming up at the Small Fry (hey, that’s close to where the “Living Dead” theatrical presentation took place) and the Saturday presale was sold out, and the Glow Show Puppets were supposed to be rehearsing with the “Living Dead.” Nope, The Dark Room is exactly that — dark!
And the rains couldn’t keep Divina Plowman away — she’s leading the Tri-High Teen Halloween Party Saturday, Oct. 26! — she was part of the support staff getting Freaky Fridays underway.
More rain activity as the Island School Voyagers took a page out of the University of Hawaii to host its senior gala — congratulations to seniors Ashley “Smashley” Mecham, June Hsu, Ki‘ilani Arruda and Katie Cook! — following the post-game locker-room break. By that time, the rains had migrated west.
Don’t forget, next Sunday is the Fall Festival in Waimea…free pumpkins!
