Several homes on Kauai will be highlighted in an episode on “House Hunters” at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The program on HGTV will include local real estate agent Steve Cole as he works with a couple seeking their “forever home” on Kauai.
Cole said the couple, Mike and Rainell Hopper, looked at homes in Kapaa before settling on one in Princeville, which they own today.
The episode was shot over several days on Kauai about three months ago.
Cole, who is with Elite Pacific Properties and has been in real estate nearly 40 years, said it was a great experience working with the “House Hunters” crew, and he was able to show them around the island.
“They really showed a lot of aloha,” he said.
Cole met the Hoppers last year when they had eloped to Kauai and were renting a home he had listed at Anini Beach. They became friends and, then, the couple vowed to make the island their home.
The couple later connected with “House Hunters” and, in turn, “House Hunters” contacted Cole. After a Skype interview, they said they would love to have Cole on the program.
The couple found the home they were after, “House Hunters” enjoyed filming the episode on Kauai, and Cole said he had a terrific time.
He may even be in a scene where he is paddling in Kauai’s waters. Cole, an avid paddler, coaches canoe paddling for high school teams and other age groups through local clubs.
It all worked out, he said.
“And they’ll be back for sure,” Cole added.
