LIHUE — The Lihue Business Association will be focusing on industrial hemp farming and the progress of the pilot programs on Kauai, during its monthly meeting at Duke’s Canoe Club from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Now that the first industrial hemp harvest on Kauai is complete, LBA will provide an update on the state Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp Pilot Program, both from a regulatory perspective and from the viewpoint of three of the island’s pioneering farmers.
Panelists include Micah Munekata, legislative coordinator, DOA; Daryl Kaneshiro, manager, Omao Lands LLC; Yoshi L’Hote, director, Aina Ho‘okupu o Kilauea; and Ray Maki, owner, Permaculture Kauai.
