Kudos to Lynn Muramoto and her “family” of volunteers (Sandi Kato-Klutke said she does this because it’s only once a year) on allowing the hundreds of people to experience the spirit of the place…yes, Gerald Muramoto, the feeling changes with the number of people.
Nani and Juno (she said she used to camp, there) Apalla were among those relishing the experience, and Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing students Hinako Hokama, Teresa Shimada, and Seira Arakaki discovered the site because their homestay host, Char Ono, was among the Taiko Kauai performers (that creation about the Lawai wind was awesome!).
Wendy Benton got to see the students Friday during the opening of the bold color exhibit at the Kauai Society of Artists gallery, but shed her Carol Ann Davis fashion piece for the art station in Lawai…we should have had Eve Solomon there to see how Lawai would inspire her creative juices…
Carol Yotsudo (yes, she was at the Friday night exhibit, too) was in the company of Living Treasures, and is now ready to help at the 10th anniversary The Shops at Kukuiula special activities station from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Palm Court during the Kauai Culinary Market Wednesday (hey, that’s today!).
