Wayne ‘Kahale’ Bautista Rivera Jr.
Wayne “Kahale” Bautista Rivera Jr. passed away peacefully on Aug. 6, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center, at the age of 38.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1981, in Lihue.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Frank Sr. and Juanita Rivera and Theodore and Agnes Pabo.
He is survived by parents Wayne Sr. and Liane Rivera, brother Pomai Rivera, sister Makana Rivera, and numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration and remembrance of life will be held on Friday, Aug. 30, at Anahola Beach Park at 5 p.m., with a service to follow at 6 p.m.
Barbara Akiona
Barbara Akiona, 85, of Anahola, passed away at home on Aug. 15, 2019. She was born on Oahu on Dec. 6, 1933, and retired as a sales clerk with Longs Drugs.
She was preceded in death by husband William Akiona, parents Koshiro and Mary Takahashi, and sister Joyce Higa.
She is survived by children Wilma Akiona, Berna (Larry) Akiona Arruda and Daryl (Jennifer) Akiona, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sisters Rosalind (Roy) Fujimoto and Helen Suehiro, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 9 on Friday, Sept. 6, at Hawaiian Memorial Park in Kaneohe.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home and Hosoi Garden Morutary are assisting the family with arrangements.
George Torayoshi Sakamoto
George Torayoshi Sakamoto, 76, of Lihue, passed away on Aug. 16, 2019. He was born in Kona, Hawaii, on June 17, 1943, and retired as a supervising ramp agent for Aloha Airlines.
He is survived by sister Sue (Wilfred) Tokuuke, brothers Wayne (Sharon) Sakamoto and Stanley Sakamoto, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.
The family requests no koden (monetary gifts).

Telford Koon Hop Ai
Telford Koon Hop Ai, 65, of Koloa, passed away on June 24, 2019, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home. He was born on Oahu on Jan. 9, 1954 and was self-employed.
He was preceded in death by father Thomas Ai Sr., stepfather Pongne Park, and sister Liann Kawehi Hardy.
He is survived by mother Annie Nietmoi Park, son Matthew Sands, brothers Thomas Ai Jr., Raymond Ai and John Park, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.
